Before you arrive
How do I check my housing and roommate assignments for the year?
Room assignments and roommate contact information will be available on your student WebAdvisor after July 1st. Don’t know how to use WebAdvisor? See how here
How do I review or change my meal plan?
Changes to your meal plan can be made by emailing Student Affairs at student_affairs@washcoll.edu during the drop/add period.
What if I’m not sure I like my roommate?
First, be sure to review the “Roommates 101” page. It is also important not to make decisions about your roommate based on a Facebook page. Try to speak to your future roommate in person before you decide that you cannot live with them. If you have met your future roommate and still believe you will be unable to live with them, contact Residence Life at Residential_Life@washcoll.edu
Can I bring my car to campus?
Yes. There is parking available for students of any year. Parking passes may be purchased in Public Safety, or may be filled out at the Public Safety website
Residence Halls
I don’t want to live where I have been placed, can I change my room?
Due to residence hall occupancy being at an all time high this year, all room assignments are fixed at this time. Please make an opportunity to give your roommate and room a chance. If during the year you continue to have issues, you can contact your Resident Assistant.
What is an RA and what do they do?
An RA, or Resident Assistant, is a highly trained upperclassman who is responsible for building a safe and fun community in their residence hall. To learn more about RAs, you can visit the RA webpage
What should I bring to college and what should I leave at home?
That can be found under the What to bring page. Also, remember that space may be sparce so be sure not to over pack.
How big is my room going to be?

Will my room have air conditioning?
All dorms on campus have air conditioning
Does my room come with a TV?
No, but all rooms do have free cable access if you choose to bring your own TV.
Do I need extra long sheets for my bed?
Yes, all beds at the college are extra long twin sized beds.
Can I receive mail on campus?
Yes, you will be issued a mailbox number and key when you arrive. Your mailing address will be:

Can I have a pet in my room?
You are permitted to have fish in your room. All other pets are prohibited.
Can I have a guest stay in my room?
Yes, you may have guests stay in your room for up to three nights, if your roommate agrees. Remember to let your RA know that your guest is staying. Also, as a student of the college, you are responsible for the actions all of your guests, and any damage that they cause or citations they receive will be your responsibility.

How do I deal with a maintenance issue?
You can access the Maintenance Request page from the Washington College login page
For a maintenance emergency, contact Buildings and Grounds at 410-778-7210 during the day from 8:30-4:30. Before and after these times, contact Public Safety for maintenance emergencies.
Where is Health Services located and how can I contact them?
Health Services is located between Caroline and Queen Anne’s Halls, and is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm. You can call them at (410) 778-7261 to make an appointment for any non-emergency medical examination. If you or someone else is experiencing a medical emergency, contact Public Safety at (410) 778-7210 or dial 911 to dispatch an ambulance.
